Bride & Groom of the year 2009 - Mario and Karen Scarpuzza

Information

The first Bridal Expo was held in 1999 at the Wintersun Hotel in Geraldton. It was arranged as a one-day fundraiser for the Geraldton Region RFDS Volunteer Fundraising Committee.

After two years the organisation of the Expo was handed fully to the Geraldton Region RFDS Volunteer Fundraising Committee and had exceeded all our expectations so we decided to have it over two days as the Bridal gowns were all from Cupids Bridal in Perth. It was too expensive for the Bridal Company to drive from Perth to Geraldton with a large amount of Wedding Gowns and drive back after only one day of Fashion Parades.

Over the years, the expo has grown larger and better. It has gotten so big in recent years that we have had to find a new, bigger venue at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre. 2010 will be the first expo in the QEII centre.

Without the support of the fashion houses, the modelling company, the models and their parents, the many businesses houses of the Midwest, the Brides of Yesteryear gown owners, the entrants in the two competitions, the two Primary Schools, and the bay holders who have supported us over the last eleven years, and to all the other people who donate their valuable time and money to assist us this Expo would not happen.

We also thank the members of the public who attend the Expo, with out every one of you this venture would not be as popular as it has grown to be.
